Double threat chili

Serves 4
8 oz ground round
8 oz ground fresh turkey
1 (28 oz) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
3/4 cup chopped carrots
3/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 tsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 bay leaf
1 cup drained red kidney beans
2 cup cooked long grain rice
Brown ground beef and ground turkey in skillet; stirring frequently; drain. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, carrots, onion, green pepper and seasonings. Simmer, partially covered, for 1 hour. Stir in beans. Simmer for 15 minutes longer. Remove bay leaf. Spoon over hot rice in serving bowls.
