Lean chili

Serves 6

2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
2 Tbsp margarine
1 lb lean ground beef
2 Tbsp chili powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 (28 oz) cans tomatoes
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup water
2 cups kidney beans

Saute mushrooms, celery and onion in margarine in skillet until onion is tender. Add ground beef and about 1/4 of the mixture of chili powder, salt and pepper. Cook until ground beef is brown, stirring frequently. Stir in remaining seasoning mixture, tomatoes, sugar, worcestershire sauce and water. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Add kidney beans. Simmer for 10 minutes longer. Spoon into serving bowls.
