Skillet Beef and Broccoli

Serves 4

2 cup thin round steak strips
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp oil
1-2 Tbsp sesame seed
4 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup beef broth
garlic powder to taste
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup beef broth
1 (6 oz) can water chestnuts, drained

Combine steak, soy sauce and oil in a bowl. Let stand for several minutes. Heat electric skillet to 300 F. Add sesame seed. Cook for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until toasted. Remove and reserve sesame seed. Add broccoli and 1/2 cup broth to skillet. Cook until tender. Increase temperature to 375 F. Add steak and garlic powder. Cook until brown, stirring frequently. Add mushrooms. Cook until tender. Blend cornstarch with lemon juice and remaining 1/2 cup broth. Stir into skillet with water chestnuts. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Spoon into serving dish. Sprinkle with reserved sesame seed. Serve over bean sprouts, rice or chow mein noodles.
