Makes 12 muffins

2 large eggs
1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup cooking oil
3 Tbsp fancy (mild) molasses
1 cup all bran cereal
1/2 cup chopped pitted dates
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats (not instant)
1 Tbsp wheat germ
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt

Beat eggs in medium bowl until frothy. Mix milk, cooking oil and molasses. Beat until smooth. Add cereal and dates. Stir well. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Combine remaining 9 ingredients in large bowl. Make a well in center. Add date mixture to well. Stir until just moistened. Fill 12 greased muffin cups 3/4 full. Bake in 400 F oven for about 15 minutes until wooden pick inserted in center of muffin comes out clean. Let stand in pan for 5 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool.
