Butterscotch Pie

4 Tbsp butter
4 Tbsp cream
1 1/2 cups milk
6 Tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup cream
1/4 tsp salt
3 egg yolks (reserve whites for meringue)
baked pie shell
Melt butter; add cream, brown sugar and salt. Stir until well mixed about 5 minutes. Combine milk, egg yolks and flour and add to first mix. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thick. Remove from heat add vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue and bake at 450 F for 10 minutes or until meringue in golden brown.
