Fried Apple pies

1 pkg dried apples
1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar
pastry rounds
oil

Put apples in saucepan, add water only to cover. Bring to boil, cover pan and cook over low heat until apples are soft and water cooked out. Stir occasionally. Add sugar to taste. Chill. Roll out pastry rounds the size of a saucer. Place about 2 Tbsp on pastry. Dampen edges of pastry with cold water and fold over to make pies half moon shape. Fry in lightly oiled skillet on medium heat until golden brown. Spices as desired may be added to apples with sugar.
