White icing

2 1/2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup white karo
1/2 cup water
3 egg whites
1 pinch of salt
vanilla

Mix sugar, Karo and water together in saucepan and put on low heat. When mix begins to boil, turn on high and boil until it spins a thread, then add to egg whites with mixer on highest speed. Mix until thick and add vanilla. If icing gets too thick add a little warm water. Will keep in refrigerator for weeks. Will ice 3 layers.
