Orange Cake

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
grated rind of 1 orange
1 cup chopped dates
2/3 cup sour milk
1 tsp soda
2 cups flour
GLAZE:
1 cup sugar
2 oranges, juiced

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs, dates and orange rind. Sift soda with flour. Alternate with sour milk and flour. Bake at 325 F for 50-60 minutes.
GLAZE: Mix together and boil for 5 minutes. Pour over cake while still hot.
