chicken curry

Serves 6-8

3 lbs chicken
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp curry powder
2 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1 (no. 2) can tomatoes
2 Tbsp yogurt

Wash and dry pieces of chicken. Melt butter in large skillet; add onions and garlic. Fry gently for a few minutes; add curry, salt and chili powder and cook slowly before adding chicken. Saute chicken over low heat, turn and cover. Cook over low heat 1 1/2 hours. Add yogurt and tomatoes and simmer 20 minutes. Serve with rice, chutney and assorted condiments.
