Onion casserole

6-8 average size white onions
1 generous cup grated Velveeta cheese
1 cup crushed potato chips
few dots of butter

Peel and slice onion. Drop into pan of unsalted water and boil until fork tender, about 3 minutes; drain. In greased baking dish; place 1 layer of onions, sprinkle with 12 of the cheese and 1/2 of the potato chips crumbs. Dot with butter, sparingly. Use remaining ingredients in same order for second layer. Sprinkle with black pepper and paprika. Bake in 350 F oven for 25-30 minutes.
