Potato rolls

1 yeast cake
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cup Crisco
1 tsp salt
1 egg, well beaten
1 cup milk, scalded
1/2 cup mashed potatoes
6-7 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine sugar, shortening, salt, milk and potatoes. Add yeast and flour. Mix well. Lastly add beaten egg. Knead well in bowl. At this point batter may be stored in refrigerator for several hours or left overnight. Make into rolls and let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours in warm place. When rolls are made they freeze well if frozen before they rise. Then when thawed let rise for 2 to 2 1/2 hour in a warm place. Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes.
