3 cups sifted all purpose flour

4 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
1 lightly beaten egg
1/4 cup shortening, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup walnuts
Sift dry ingredients and add liquid ingredients to dry mixture. Stir gently. Bake in greased loaf pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes at 350 F.
