Creamy Beef dip

1 (8 oz pkg)cream cheese
2 oz jar dried beef, finely chopped
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup sour cream
2 Tbsp each finely chopped onion and green pepper
2 1/2 Tbsp milk

Place cream cheese in double boiler; cook very slowly until cheese is softened. Add all other ingredients and stir until well blended. Cover. Cook 6-8 minutes, stirring gently, do not allow to boil. May be served hot or cold on crackers or toast.
