Onion casserole

6-8 average size white onions
2 generous cup grated Velveeta cheese
1 cup crushed potato chips
few dots of butter

Peel and slice onions. Drop into pan of unsalted water and boil until fork tender, about 5 minutes, drain. In greased baking dish, place 1 layer of onions. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the cheese and 1/2 of the potato chip crumbs. Dot with butter; sparingly. Use remaining ingredients in same order for second layer. Sprinkle with black pepper and paprika. Bake in 350 F oven for 25-30 minutes.
