Hershey Bar Cake

Serves 16

6 regular Hershey chocolate bars
1 (8oz) can chocolate syrup
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup margarine
1 (5 1/4 oz) can evaporated milk
1 (16 oz) package light brown sugar
6 oz chocolate chips
pinch of salt

Melt chocolate bars with chocolate syrup in double boiler, mixing well. Cool. Cream 1 cup margarine and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add mixture of flour, soda and 1/4 tsp salt alternately with chocolate and buttermilk, mixing well after each addition.
Spoon into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes or until cake tests done. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Bring 1/2 cup margarine, evaporated milk and brown sugar to a boil in saucepan. Cook for 1 minute; remove from heat.
Stir in chocolate chips and pinch of salt. Beat by hand until of desired consistency. Spread between layers and over top and side of cake.
