Cinnamon biscuits

Makes 1 dozen

1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup water
2 1/2 cup flour
1 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 Tbsp evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Mix raisins and 1/4 cup water in small saucepan. Bring to the boiling point; remove from heat. Let stand until raisins are plump.
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, cinnamon and salt in bowl. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Drain raisins, reserving liquid. Stir mixture of reserved liquid and buttermilk into flour mixture; mix until smooth. Stir in raisins.
Roll 1/2 inch thick on floured surface; cut with biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425 F for 12 minutes or until light brown.
Combine confectioners' sugar, evaporated milk and vanilla in bowl; mix well. Mix in enough water to make of desired consistency. Drizzle over hot biscuits.
