Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Category: side dish

Serves 6

8 oz elbow macaroni
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 cup milk
2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Cook macaroni according to package directions. Melt butter in saucepan; remove from heat. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Stir in milk gradually. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat. Simmer for 1 minute. Remove sauce from heat. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese and macaroni. Pour into 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese on top. Bake at 350 F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
