Barbecue sauce

Makes 2 cups

1/2 cup chopped onion
2 Tbsp oil
1 cup ketchup
1 cup water
3-4 Tbsp vinegar
3-5 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp salt

Saute onion in oil in saucepan. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Simmer for 20 minutes. Use with shredded beef or pork for sandwiches or as basting sauce for ribs.
