Icebox Rolls

Makes 2 dozen

2 pkg dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
3 cup flour
melted butter

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Combine remaining 1/2 cup warm water with shortening, sugar, salt and egg in large bowl; mix well. Add yeast and flour; mix well.
Refrigerate, covered, overnight. Roll on floured surface; cut with biscuit cutter. Dip into melted butter; fold in half and arrange in greased 11x13-inch baking pan.
Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk. Bake at 400 F for 15-20 minutes or until brown. Remove to serving plate.
