Chocolate frosting

Combine 2 cups sugar, 2/3 cup milk, 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter at room temperature, cut into pieces; 4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, chopped and 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup in a medium saucepan. Bring to boiling over medium high heat, cook 1 minute, remove from heat. Stir in 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Cool to room temperature, beat with a mixer until at spreading consistency, 4-6 minutes.
