Monkey Bread

Your youngsters will sure to love this recipe for monkey bread. It has been passed down from generation to generation. If you are not confident in your cooking skills with dry yeast and all purpose flour, this recipe is not for you.
1 cup milk
1 cup butter, melted and divided in half
4 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 package dry yeast
3 1/2 cup all purpose flour
Combine milk, 1/2 cup butter, sugar and salt in a saucepan and heat. Cook to 105 to 115. Stir in yeast until dissolved. Place flour in large bowl. Make a well in flour and pour in liquid mixture; stir until blended. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Turn dough out onto floured surface. Roll 1/4 inch thick; cut into 3 inch squares. Dip each square into remaining butter and layer squared in a 10 inch tube or Bundt pan. Let rise until doubled in bulk, about 30-40 minutes. Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes. Best when served warm.
