squash pickles

8 cups sliced squash
1 Tbsp salt
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp mustard seed
2 cup sliced onion
1 cup cider vinegar
1/2 tsp celery seed
combine squash and onion. Sprinkle salt and set stand for 1 hour. Combine sugar, celery see, mustard seed and vinegar. bring to a boil. Add squash and onions. Return to boil, pack in hot jars; cover with vinegar mixture and seal.
