Microwave BUTTER Toffee

1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup whole milk
5 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Run the second half of the stick of butter around the inside of a glass bowl to coat it.
Add the ingredients in this order to the bowl: 1/2 cup softened butter, sugar, salt and milk. Stir gently. Do not allow sugar crystals to get onto the sides of the bowl.
Cook the mixture in the microwave for approximately six minutes. Since all microwaves vary, watch your mixture carefully. When it turns a golden brown, the toffee is done. Remove from the microwave and pour onto a buttered cookie sheet. Immediately sprinkle chocolate bits over the top. When the chocolate begins to soften, spread it evenly over the toffee.
