SLOPPY TURKEY JOSE

Category: Sammies (Sandwiches)

This is a spicy version of the old favorite.
Use a tortilla, pita or whole wheat hamburger bun to serve. My boys got tired of regular Sloppy Joes, so to switch it up a bit I changed the name and super-charged the flavors!

Serves 4-6

1 1/2 pounds of ground turkey-browned
1 (15oz) can of sloppy Joe sauce
1 teaspoon ground chipotle( or too taste)
1/2 teaspoon orange zest(optional)
1 teaspoon honey or to taste
1(4oz) can sliced black olives (optional)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 large tomato diced or sliced
1 ripe avocado sliced(optional)

Directions:
1.Brown the turkey in a skillet over medium heat for about 15 minutes or until it is browned and no longer pink.
2.Add the can of sloppy joe sauce and the ground chipotle, orange zest and black olives.
3. Heat through stirring occasionally for approximately 5 minutes.
4. Warm the flour tortillas, buns or pita's in the microwave.
Serve the Jose's with the desired condiments listed above.

Note: this can be made in the crock pot.
Add turkey, sloppy joe sauce, ground chipotle
orange zest and black olives. Cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or until turkey is cooked through.
