EASY POOR MANS BEEF TIPS

I remember cooking beef tips from the tenderloin scraps in the restaurant I worked in as a teenager- they were a big seller on our buffet. They were also VERY delicious and simple to prepare. Because most of us can't afford tenderloin, here is a great way to get the same taste simply and on a budget. Your crock pot tenderizes your beef for you!

Serves 4-6
2 Pounds of hanger steak or the eye of the chuck, called Bistro Steaks. Cut into 2 inch pieces.
2 gloves of garlic
1 medium onion coarsely chopped
8 ounces of fresh whole mushrooms
fresh ground black pepper to taste
1 envelope of dry French onion soup mix
1 cup of water or vegetable stock
1 can of condensed low sodium cream of mushroom soup
Noodles-cooked according to the package to serve the beef tips over
Directions:
Browning the beef is optional.
Put the ingredients into a 6 qt. crock pot.
Cook on HIGH for 4-6 hours or on LOW for 8-10 hours.
Serve over cooked egg noodles or spaetzle
