CRANBERRY TURKEY FOLDOVERS
Category: POULTRY MAIN DISH
This one is sooo easy and can be made ahead and frozen! Let it thaw overnight in your refrigerator and bake!
Serves 6
2 cups diced turkey, chicken can be substituted as can pork tenderloin!
1 cup of chunky cranberry sauce-the remainder of the can can be warmed for a dipping sauce when you serve the foldover.
1/4 cup dijon mustard
1/2 cup real mayonnaise
1/2 cup diced celery
1 garlic clove minced-optional
1/2 cup sliced green onions
1 tablespoon chopped parlsey
1 loaf of frozen bread-thawed.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In a bowl mix the diced turkey, dijon mustard, mayonnaise, garlic, cranberry sauce, green onions and parsley. Set aside.
Roll out bread dough to a 12 inch round.
This may be difficult so make sure the dough is room temperature.
Place rolled out dough on a large cookie sheet, don't forget this step because it will be hard to transfer to the pan AFTER the foldover has been filled.
On one side of the dough place the turkey filling.
Fold over the other side over the filling and crimp the edges by rolling them inwards and pinch going all the way around the half circle.
If you fail to seal it properly your filling will leak out!
Place foldover in the preheated oven and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the top is browned.
Let sit for 5 minutes after removing from the oven and serve with cranberry "dipping" sauce.
