Finnish Sticks (cookies)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons almond flavoring
4 cups flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup finely chopped blanched almonds
3 teaspoons sugar

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar. Stir in flavoring.
Add flour and mix thoroughly.
Roll round lengths with hands about the thickness of a finger.
Put lengths close together,on a cookie sheet and brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with the mixture, of almonds and sugar.
Cut into 2 inch strips. Bake in a moderate oven, 350 degress.
For about 15 minutes
Yield- about 50 cookies.

We bake these always at Christmas time.
