Finnish Cabbage Pie

Ingredients:
a double pastry crust, for a 12X16" pan
6 Tablespoons butter, divided
1 medium cabbage, shredded
2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons clear vinegar
1 hard cooked egg, chopped
milk
Directions:
Roll out 1/2 of the pastry and place on a greased jelly roll pan.
Lightly brown 3 Tablespoons of butter in a skillet. Add cabbage
Fry till cabbage is soft. Then add the water
and simmer until cabbage is cooked.
Mix in the salt, brown sugar and vinegar, into the cabbage mixture. Then drain.
Then pile onto
the pastry and dot with butter, sprinkle with the chopped egg.
Roll out the second half of the pastry and place over the cabbage.
Seal in the sdges, and prick the top with a fork.
Brush with the milk and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes, or till golden brown.
