BEEF - ROAST - STOVETOP - SPICED POT

Makes 6 servings.

1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 lb. boneless beef rump or chuck roast
2 T. cooking oil
1 1/2 c. beef broth
1/2 c. chutney
1/2 c. raisins
1 onion, chopped
1/2 T. curry powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. ground ginger

Preheat oven to 350F.
Combine flour, salt and pepper; rub over entire roast.
In a Dutch oven, brown roast in oil on all sides.
Combine chutney, raisins, onion, curry powder, garlic powder and ground ginger; pour over roast.
Cover and bake at 325F for 3 hours, or until meat is tender.
Thicken gravy if desired.
