FRUIT TARTE - APPLE BAVARIAN CHEESE

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. Amaretto liqueur
1 c. all-purpose flour

Filling

1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. all-purpose sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. Amaretto liqueur
4 c. peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 c. sliced almonds
powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 450F.
For crust, in a medium bowl, combine butter sugar, amaretto and flour. Work with hands until mixture goes together.
Press on bottom and up sides of a 9-inch spring-form pan.
For filling, in another bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, eggs and Amaretto; beat well to combine. Pour into pastry-lined pan.
In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar and cinnamon and scatter over cheese mixture. Sprinkle with almonds.
Bake at 450F for 10 minutes. Reduce to 375F and bake an additional 25 minutes.
Cool before removing from pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
