TARTS - NUT - CHOCOLATE PECAN

Makes 30 tarts.

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
6 eggs
1 c. milk
2 c. maple syrup
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. pecan halves
3/4 lb. semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped

30 2 1/2-inch tarts shells, unbaked

Preheat oven to 375F.
In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Beat in milk, syrup and vanilla.
Sprinkle pecans and half of the chocolate into prepared tart shells.
Divide egg mixture evenly between tart shells.
Bake at 375F for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325F and bake for 20 to 25 minutes longer, or until crust is golden.
Sprinkle remaining chocolate evenly over tarts. Let soften for 2 minutes. Spread with back of spoon.
