Makes 6 servings.

2 lb. lean ground beef
1 c. Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 onion, chopped
2 eggs, beaten
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
4 oz. thinly sliced cooked ham
4 oz. sliced provolone cheese
1 7-oz. can tomato paste

Preheat oven to 350F.
In a medium bowl, mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, eggs, onion and garlic; season with salt and pepper.
Pat meat mixture out onto a piece of parchment paper and flatten to 1/2 inch thick.
Lay ham slices onto meat mixture and top with of cheese slices.
Pick up the edge of the parchment paper to roll the flattened meat up into a log.
Remove parchment paper, seal the ends and seam, and place loaf into a 4 x 9-inch loaf pan.
Spoon tomato paste over load and spread to cover.
Bake at 350F for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until loaf is no longer pink inside.
