BLACK-EYED PEA CORNBREAD

1 pound sausage-cooked until crumbled and brown, drain
1 cup plain corn meal
1/2 cup plain flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
12 cup veg. oil
2 eggs slightly beaten
3/4 cup cream style corn
1 onion chopped
2 jalapenos peppers chopped (optional)
1 can b;ackeyed peas 16oz. (15.5 oz.)
1`/2 pound cheddar cheese, grated (8oz.pkg.)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, oil. eggs and corn to dry ingredients and mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.Pour into a 9x13 pan sprayed with Pam. Bake 40-50 minutes until top is brown.
