2 cups plain medium ground cornmeal
2 Tablespoon self-rising flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable
water

Mix meal, flour & salt together. Add water to make a stiff bread mixture. Pour oil into skillet (cast iron is best) and put into a 450 degree oven. Get very hot.
Wet hands. Roll bread mixture into pones and put into the hot grease. Bake until golden brown.
