For 6 servings, take 12 pieces of bread and spread your favorite jam or jelly on one piece and top with another piece of bread.
In a large bowl, beat 4-5 eggs with a wisk and add 1/3 cup milk or half-and-half, 1 t. grated nutmeg and 1 T. sugar. Fry in hot oiled skilet like french toast, turning once. Remove from skillet and dust lightly with 10X sugar. Serve with butter and warm syrup. This recipie was given to me by my daughter-in-law when she was a young teenager. It is great for a large crowd when you want french toast - you don't have to fry as much to fill folks up!
