Serves/Makes: 10
Ready in: 1-2 hrs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 can (16 ounce size) Hershey's chocolate syrup
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts
***FROSTING***
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed until fluffy. With the mixer running, add the eggs one at a time. Beat until fully incorporated. Add the chocolate syrup and beat for 30 seconds. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. With the mixer running, slowly add the flour mixture. Stir in the vanilla and nuts by hand. Transfer the brownie batter to the prepared baking dish. Place the brownies in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes or until done. Let cool completely in the pan. Meanwhile, prepare the frosting by combining the butter, sugar, and milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the frosting to a boil and let cook, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes. The sugar should be fully dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chocolate chips and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Spread over the cooled brownies.
