Serves/Makes: 6
Ready in: < 30 minutes
- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 can (28 ounce size) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cook the pasta in salted water in a Dutch oven as directed on the package. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot. Set aside. Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease then add the browned beef and crushed tomatoes to the pasta. Add the salt, seasoned salt, and black pepper to the pasta mixture. Place the Dutch oven over medium heat and cook, stirring frequently, until all is heated through. Serve hot.
