Ready in: < 30 minutes

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole egg, beaten
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Accent seasoning (MSG)
  • 1 cup powdered coffee creamer
  • 3 onions, sliced 1/2-inch thick

Heat oil in a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F.

Place the flour in a shallow baking pan and stir in the salt and pepper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the other ingredients (except onions) until frothy.

Dip the onion rings in the wet ingredients then into the flour mixture until coated. Then dip in the wet mixture again, and then into the flour again.

Fry the onion rings (in batches) in the hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, and serve immediately.
