Serves 8
3 pounds chicken wings
1 cup honey
2 tablespoons fresh minced garlic
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 green onion, thinly sliced, for garnish
Place the chicken wings in a zip-top bag. Set aside.
Mix the honey, garlic, vinegar, soy sauce and pepper in a medium bowl until smooth. Pour half of the sauce into the bag over the wings. Roll the wings around in the bag to fully coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 400. Line a baking sheet with foil.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place on the foil-lined baking sheet. Discard the marinade.
Bake the wings for 35 minutes, or until cooked through and browned. Use the pan drippings to baste the chicken halfway through baking time.
Use the reserved marinade as a dipping sauce. Garnish the wings with the green onion.
