1 lb fresh asparagus, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
4 cups milk
1 (14.5 oz) can chicken broth
1 lb cubed fully cooked ham
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
8 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
12 biscuits, warmed

Cook asparagus in boiling until tender, about 5 minutes. Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in flour until smooth. Add milk and broth; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 3 minutes. Add ham and cheese; stirring until cheese melts. Fold in eggs, salt, cayenne pepper and cooled asparagus. Heat through and serve over biscuits. Serves 10-12
