1 lb dry Great Northern or navy beans, soaked in water in a large pot overnight.
1 1/2 cups tomato juice
1 cup water
2/3 cup molasses
1/2 cup diced onion
4 tbsp ketchup and brown sugar
4 slices bacon, diced and fried until crisp
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Drain beans, then cover with fresh water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook, until beans are almost tender, 45-60 minutes. Drain beans and transfer to a casserole dish coated with cooking spray. Combine remaining ingredients and stir into beans. Bake, uncovered, at 250 for 4 hours. NOTE: Start checking beans occasionally after 2 hours, adding water as needed to prevent scorching.
