2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup quick-cooking oat
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt and oats.Mix well and set aside.

In a large bowl blend sugars with an electric mixer at medium speed.Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture, pecans and chocolate chips and blend at low speed just until combined. Do not overmix.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake for 20-22 minutes.Immediately transfer cookies to a cool, flat surface.
