1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pint softened French vanilla bean ice cream
Boiling water
Dark Rum or Light Rum
Cinnamon sticks
Instructions:
Cream first five ingredients together with electric mixer. Add ice cream, cover tightly and freeze (Mixture will not freeze solid).
To Serve: Preheat mugs with hot water. Empty mugs. Put 2 to 4 tablespoons mixture in each mug. Add 3 tablespoons of rum to each mug. Fill each mug with boiling water and stir. Garnish each drink with a cinnamon stick. Serves 12-24
NOTE: You can make the mixture ahead, freeze it and then dip into it whenever company drops by during the holiday season. All you have to do is boil some water and add some rum.
