2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 (1 oz.)squares unsweetened baking chocolate
2 tbsp. butter
2 eggs
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts (cashes, pecans or almonds work well)
Preheat a saucepan, combine 1 cup of the chocolate chips, the unsweetened chocolate and the butter and heat over low heat until melted. You can also melt the chocolate & butter in a bowl in the microwave.
Add eggs, sugar, flour, vanilla and baking powder and beat with a spoon until combined. Stir in the remaining chocolate chips and the nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are firm and the surface is dull and cracked. Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
