Dressing:
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup ketchup
3 tbsp cider vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce

Salad:
1 medium head iceberg lettuce, torn
2 cup cooked & cubed chicken
1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
6 oz pkg. frozen snow peas
1 cup cashews
3 oz Chow Mien noodles
1/4 cup green onions

Combine all dressing ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, cooking and stirring for 2 minutes or until thickened and then cool. Put all salad ingredients in a large bowl. Add dressing and toss to coat. Serve immediately.
