3 cups ziti, uncooked (8 oz), cook al dente
1/2 lb ground beef
1 cup diced green pepper and onion
2 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (14 oz) can dark red kidney beans, drained
1 (14 oz) can chunky style tomatoes
1 1/3 cups medium salsa
2 cups shredded Monterey jack or cheddar cheese
Heat oven to 375. In a skillet, cook first 8 ingredients until beef is browned and vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in next 3 ingredients; heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes.
In a 13x9 inch baking pan, stir together pasta and sauce until well blended; sprinkle with cheese. Bake 10 minutes or until cheese melts
