1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 (8 oz) can chop suey vegetables, drained
1 (4 oz) can bamboo shoots, drained
1 (4 oz) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 cup frozen peas and chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 1/2 cups water
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
Chow mein noodles
Cooked rice

Brown beef and onion in a skillet. Add vegetables and water. Simmer, covered, about 7 minutes. Blend together corn starch, sugar and ginger. Gradually stir in soy sauce. Add to skillet; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Serves with noodles and rice.
