1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onion and green pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
3/4 cup grated American cheese
3 cups cooked rice

Combine first 6 ingredients and 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Pat mixture onto bottom and sides of a greased 10 inch pie plate. Combine rice and remaining tomato sauce and 1/2 cup cheese. Spoon into meat shell. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake 5 minutes more. Serves 6
