Crust:
1 1/2 cups fine graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup pecans, finely ground
1/4 cup sugar and brown sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
Filling:
2 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar, divided
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 large eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg and ginger
Preheat oven to 350. Combine crust ingredients and press into a 9 inch spring form pan. Bake 10 minutes; set aside.
Filling: Combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl; beat until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after addition. Reserve 1 cup batter.
To remaining, add remaining sugar, pumpkin and spices; mix well. Alternately layer the cream cheese batter and the pumpkin mixture over the crust, making sure that the top has a little of the plain batter on it. Swirl with a knife, dragging one color into the other, to create a marble effect.
Bake for 55 minutes. Loosen the cake from the rim of the pan; cool before removing from the pan; then wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
