Category: Bars
Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup packed brown sugar and softened butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan. Line with foil and grease. Melt 1 cup chocolate chips, stirring often, until smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Mix dry ingredients; set aside.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Scoop half into a second bowl. Stir melted chocolate into remaining batter until blended. Spread chocolate mixture in prepared pan.

Drop tbspfuls of plain batter over chocolate layer. Spread carefully in an even layer. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips and nuts. Bake 30-35 minutes or until edges begin to pull away from side of pan. Cool in pan on wire rack before cutting into bars.
